ABOUT THIS COURSE

Due to the evolution of the epidemic situation of Covid-19 this project is suspended.

As a cultural expression, music has the capacity to make identities known and, as a universal language, to serve as a catalyst for bringing people together. This KA1 Erasmus + course aims to offer participants opportunities for developing and deepening skills in the field of music and how to use it in their classroom, in an inter and transdisciplinary perspective.

This course is designed for preschool, primary and secondary school teachers that want to engage in more music activities in their daily routine. It's also designed for music teachers that are looking for opportunities to develop their skills in music teaching and also other teachers that may be interested.

The objective of this course is to introduce techniques for developing musical activities in order to enable participants to apply them in the classroom, while offering opportunities for developing new partnerships and projects between the participants and their schools.

The course will lead participants to:

  1. Experience the importance of music making in classroom since early years;
  2. Get in touch with practical techniques that can easier the approach to music activities in a group of children and young people;
  3. Get to know different approaches in music learning;
  4. Enhance teacher's musicality and empower them to use music in their daily routine;
  5. Exchange experiences and ideas between the participants;
  6. Create a network for future projects.

This course will provide the participants opportunities to engage in different types of activities such as workshops, team activities, school visits and reflection and debate activities.

With a special focus on the development of participants' musical skills, we will propose practical activities that can be replicable in each participant's work context. At all times, participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences and reflect on the activities in which they participated. In this way, it is intended, on the one hand, to create a mapping of the procedures implemented in each country and to share examples of good practice among all and, on the other, to build knowledge together that will allow all participants to disseminate ideas in their working environments.

All materials and resources will be shared through the e-Twining platform, building a network of connections between participants that will enable them to create a portfolio of materials and new partnerships to develop future projects.

Dates: 6 to 10 July 2020 | 12 to 16 October 2020

Note: This plan may be subject to changes without further notice

The course fee is 350€ (70 € per day for 5 days) wich includes tuition, training materials and VAT. Participants can apply to grant from EU Erasmus+ programme that covers the necessary costs for participants of the programme (course fee, individual support and travel expenses).
